Middle School Swimmers!

As our season approaches, I want to make sure we are all on the same page, so we will have a Parent Google Meet Virtual Meeting on Thursday 09/21 at 7:30 PM. (Click the links to join).

I wanted to answer some Q&A to ease some minds :) :

• We have four meets scheduled and confirmed so far, these are also on our team calendar on our website:
  • 11/04: Westminster Invitational @ Westminster School (upwards of 20 middle school teams there)
  • 11/12-11/13: Swim Meet vs Duluth @ Swim Atlanta (full meet on 11/12, the whole team doing 500's on 11/13 during practice)
  • 12/10: Gwinnett Invitational @ West Gwinnett Aquatic Center (As of now, it is Norcross, Duluth, and Collins Hill with the possibility of Loganville and the YMCA joining us)
  • 12/15: Swim Meet vs Collins Hill @ Bogan Aquatic Center

• Practices and meets are not mandatory, but Coach Jenna would like to reiterate that more practice tends to yield more improvement for our swimmers!
• The main purpose of middle school swim is to prepare our swimmers for high school. So the events they will be competing in are high school events. These are longer distances, so our practices will be built to build that endurance, speed, and pace for those events.
• There is a team suit that is not mandatory, along with additional spirit gear you can order. That link will be made live this week and I will send it out and post it for all to use.
• If you choose to not get the team suit, we ask you to try to keep it to our team colors: green, gold, and navy. The team suits will be green/black.
• We will go over team expectations for parent volunteer shifts and different areas we need help on more at the meeting, but here is a simple outline for your consideration prior to the meeting:
  • Volunteer Coordinator
  • Meet Snack Coordinator
  • Fundraiser Coordinator

I am looking forward to seeing everyone! I will record and send out updates after the meeting, as I am aware that we all have busy lives! 

Lastly, we are at 30 swimmers so far! We would love to add a few more prior to the beginning of the season, so if you know of any swim friends who should join but have not, share this registration link with them!
